Serious Love: The Science Behind Better Pet Relationships

Kradle was born out of a collective belief that there is great power in smart science, and our sincere desire to put that power to work in ways that will dramatically improve the relationship between people and their pets.

Like you, we really love dogs. Our dogs, your dogs, and thousands of other dogs we’ll never even meet. We love the way just having them around can make us and life better: like the way they care for us just as much as we do for them. That’s why we hate that helpless feeling we get when they’re not healthy or happy.

But we also love science. We love its purity, its reliability, and the discovery that comes from putting in the work – of trying a hundred different solutions – until you’ve produced the perfect result.

So, when luck brought us together and we realized the enormous number of people who have the same problem we do with anxious dogs, we set out to find a serious solution.

The Search Begins

If your dog has ever exhibited anxious behavior – like excessive chewing, hiding, barking or whining – chances are you’ve already looked into a variety of options. From collars and cuddling blankets to musical crates and acupressure vests, there’s no shortage of proposed solutions out there. But your dog is pretty smart and intuitive. He or she knows when something doesn’t feel right or “natural” even if it’s based on some form of science.

Of course, these products can also be a hassle to use and only provide temporary relief while you’re actually using them. We know. We’ve tried most of them on our own dogs.

So, turning to nature, some pet parents (including members of our own team) have tried additional remedies containing plant-based ingredients like St. John's Wort, Passionflower and Valerian Root. Others have experimented with forms of aromatherapy to calm their anxious dogs, sprinkling their pets’ favorite toys or beds with the oils or essence of things like Lavender and Egyptian Geranium.

The problem with many of these products revolves around the issues of dosage and application.  How much is enough? Many users worry about the need to ramp up the amount they give their dogs in order to provide real relief, and then wonder if they might be using too much. And what about those stressful encounters at the dog park?

The Solution Is Revealed

Faced with the shortcomings of other products out there, the team at Kradle set out to find a solution that would not only reduce anxious behavior in dogs, but fit the real lives of every dog and owner we sought to serve. The fact is, every dog is a little different, but some things about them are all the same. Like biology.

So, we went back to basics, back to our roots, and back to answers that can be found in true science. We looked at what’s really happening inside your dog, looked at what has the greatest biological effect on their mood and behavior, and discovered the most powerful, practical solution: CBD from broad spectrum hemp extract.

Chances are, you’ve heard a little about CBD lately, and might even be using it yourself. Millions of people have benefited from the calming effect this hemp-based compound can produce and the positive results that sense of well-being can have on their lives. But it’s not enough (or ever advised) to use products intended for humans on dogs.

Just like humans, dogs have an endocannabinoid system consisting of nerve receptors – both in their brains and all over their bodies. These receptors not only influence our immune system and our perception of pain, they also help regulate our moods and emotional reactions.

The receptors in your dog’s body are activated by cannabinoids, which are either made by their own body (endocannabinoids) or consumed in products created from plants and other sources.  One of the safest and most effectivef these is Cannabidiol – or CBD – which comes from the hemp plant.

You may already know there are two basic types of CBD: Full-spectrum, which can contain up to 0.3% THC (the chemical that makes users feel “high” and studies suggest can be harmful), and Broad-spectrum, which contains no THC but still provides the desired calming effect.

So, Kradle stress-reducing solutions are crafted exclusively for your dog’s anatomy using only broad-spectrum, hemp-based CBD with no detectable THC.

The Kradle Difference

One of the key things that makes Kradle different from other CBD products is our patent-pending BotaniTek™ formulations, which work naturally with your dog’s endocannabinoid system to help calm them quickly and reliably from the inside out. This process combines pure, broad-spectrum hemp with other natural ingredients like GABA, L-theanine, SAMe and Shoden® Ashwaghanda, which are also known to have a calming effect.

But we care about more than just active ingredients. We also care about quality, purity and transparency. So, all of our solutions feature the natural flavorings dogs really like, and all of our broad-spectrum hemp is American-grown according to the highest standards.

To make things even better, Kradle Calming CBD solutions come in three different forms – Chews, Toppers and Melts – for dogs of all breeds and sizes so they’re amazingly easy to choose, carry and use. Each one contains full, single-dose amounts of our patent-pending BotaniTek™ formulation, so they can be given on a daily or occasional basis, depending upon your dog’s schedule and needs.

Those are just a few of the things that make Kradle different and we hope you’ll decide they also make us better. The entire Kradle team is focused, heads-down, pencils to paper, on creating the best answers and happiest customers.

So, if you’re serious about improving your dog’s well-being and changing their behavior, without changing their personality, we hope you’ll remember: Kradle has safe, natural, practical solutions – and a serious love for dogs.
